This is just about as far as Wisconsin & Southern can go north on its Plymouth Subdivision. Here, north of Elkhart Lake and south of Kiel, is track unused for through train movements, so it's used for car storage. Presently, there are about 80 tanks here; the L243 crew's orders are to grab the southernmost 61 of them and take them to Milwaukee. The two locomotives are about 0.8 mile north of county trunk highway MM, the northernmost active public grade crossing on the Plymouth line.
