Riverview's crew is becoming familiar with their new vessel, City of Bellevue, named for the company's Iowa headquarters. She was built in 1977 for Union Railroad, named the Sureboat, and spent her entire railroad career shuffling coal around the Monongahela River. The next chapter of her life began when she was purchased by Riverview Tug Service. Following a lengthy rebuild at a shipyard in Morgan City, Louisiana, the boat made it here to La Crosse, where she's awaiting Coast Guard inspection. After passing inspection, City of Bellevue will begin earning her keep for Riverview, assisting southbound tows into locks on the Upper Mississippi.
