Ardy & Ed's drive-in, an Oshkosh landmark, is running at about 50% capacity during the coronavirus pandemic, and service is limited to waitresses on roller skates delivering takeout bags of food. If this were a normal summer day, at the bottom of this picture there would be an aluminum serving tray hanging off the side of my car, holding a cheeseburger with grilled onions, pickles and mayo; fries; and a frosted mug of homemade root beer. Alas, the sack of those food items is on the passenger seat, and the foam cup of root beer is in the cupholder in the center console.
