Portland - Chicago intermodal train Q-PTLCHC3-28A heads east below the bluffs at Glen Haven. Along the gravel road above the train is BNSF's slide fence. The fence isn't designed to prevent large falling rocks from fouling the tracks; instead, a falling rock is supposed to knock a fence panel out of whack, which pulls on a switch connected to a circuit that drops nearby signals.
