CPKC's second section of the 246, the daily St. Paul to Bensenville train, heads east along the Mississippi River with Winona in its rearview mirror. First 246 must've been plenty big, as this section weighs in at 124 cars, with the lead locomotive and a DPU on the rear.
It's another hazy August morning in the upper Mississippi valley. Across the river at right is Trempealeau Mountain, part of Wisconsin's Perrot State Park.
