Long Island trains use this track a fair amount nowadays, more so than I remember in my youth. Back in the day (say, mid-1970s), I'd spend the occasional summer afternoon on the platform just to watch the parade of Amtrak and New Jersey Transit trains on their way to points beyond. A mere four minutes since the last move, this train of M-1s is moving fast toward its destination, Penn Station. Come to think of it, there have been changes to this equipment in that time, as well... such as the removal of the under-window blue band, and the addition of the yellow safety band on the car ends as well as the high center headlights.
