WSOR's L243 train pauses for a moment in Random Lake for the crew to provision a meal. This gives us an opportunity to examine Watco's newest addition to its locomotive fleet, WAMX 3947, which was most recently a Union Pacific unit; prior to that, it toiled for Delaware & Hudson. When the locomotive arrived on WSOR property last month, UP's markings had been hastily crossed out, and the new number applied with a rattle can in white paint on the front number boards. WSOR shop forces have cleaned it up a bit, but overspray is still in evidence around the number boards.
